About us

We connecting businesses across Auckland with fibre solutions for your critical workload needs.

About Vector Fibre

Vector Fibre means business. We design and operate world-class fibre infrastructure built specifically for organisations who can’t afford their network to miss a beat. From critical control systems to cloud, data centre and collaboration workloads, we provide the reliable, high-performance digital backbone that ambitious businesses and their telco partners rely on.

Based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, we’re a specialised wholesale provider focused on business fibre – not a jack-of-all-trades network. Our team of experts works peer-to-peer with telcos and enterprise customers to shape solutions around real-world outcomes, backed by personal service, rapid response and a “get it done” mindset.

We operate as a standalone business while drawing on the scale, engineering heritage and infrastructure expertise of Vector Limited, New Zealand’s largest distributor of electricity and gas. That combination of big-company strength and specialist focus means our customers get serious reliability, tailored designs and genuine accountability from people who know their world inside out.

Our History & Ownership

Vector Fibre is owned by Vector Limited, a NZX-listed company (NZX: VCT). Established in the early 2000s, the business began by delivering highly resilient SCADA networks for mission-critical utility operations across Auckland.

First launching as Tangent, evolving into Vector Communications and, today, Vector Fibre. That history means we bring decades of experience in critical infrastructure, now focused on providing leading wholesale fibre across Auckland with the capability to support customers and partners throughout New Zealand.

Why us

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Health & Safety We operate in a world where downtime isn’t just inconvenient – it can have real consequences. That’s why health and safety is non-negotiable at Vector Fibre. We follow the same rigorous frameworks as the wider Vector group, with a strong focus on critical risk management, field safety and continuous improvement across our operations. Our people are trained, supported and empowered to speak up, stop work and make safe calls, so our customers can trust that the networks they rely on are built and maintained by teams who go home safe and well every day.
  • Diversity & Inclusion We believe great networks are built by diverse teams. Vector Fibre draws on Vector’s commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where people of all backgrounds are welcomed, respected and able to bring their whole selves to work. We support diversity of thought, gender, ethnicity, age, disability and identity, and back that up with practical actions like employee-led inclusion networks. The result is a team that better reflects the communities we serve – and is better equipped to solve complex problems for our customers.

Governance

  • Corporate Governance Vector Fibre benefits from the governance strength of Vector Limited, an NZX-listed company with well-established board oversight, risk management and compliance frameworks. Our business is managed with the same disciplined approach to accountability, transparency and long-term stewardship.

For customers, that means a wholesale fibre partner with clear governance, robust controls and a strong focus on doing the right thing over the long run.

  • Environmental, Social Governance We’re part of a group that treats sustainability as a core strategic driver, not a side project. Vector’s ESG approach focuses on enabling decarbonisation, managing climate-related risks, improving energy affordability and supporting fair outcomes for people and communities.

As Vector Fibre, we bring that same ESG lens to how we design, build and operate digital infrastructure - aiming to create resilient networks that support a low-carbon, inclusive future for Aotearoa.
