North Shore City Council

The North Shore City Council (NSCC) has the responsibility to administer and control ‘Broadband Challenge’ funding from Central Government and has contracted with Vector Communications to build the network. NSCC will also take a leadership role in the promotion and use of broadband services throughout the community. This will involve chairing the established UFN user group and ensuring that network is leveraged by the community.

NSCC is further endorsing this initiative by becoming an anchor tenant and user of the network, re-investing savings made into community broadband initiatives.

Key objectives:

• To build and foster the development of a Learning Community for North Shore and North Shore schools.
• To encourage collaboration in the local community with other national and global networks and institutions to allow schools to meet their educational goals.
• To facilitate anyone, anytime, anywhere learning.
